July already?
I can’t believe it is already July.
I also can’t believe that I have only been at EMI for a month. It seems like much longer, and I mean this in a good way. I have really grown to love my internship experience there, and the idea that it is already halfway over is sad to think about.
I have met so many great people and had so much fun interacting with them day by day. I’ve been exposed to artists I never would have listened to, and seen private performances in our building. From bands like My Favorite Highway that I’ve recently discovered and grown to love, to an artist like Darius Rucker that I grew up listening to, I feel so lucky to be where I am right now.
It seems crazy how quickly I’ve become acclimated to living in New York City. I don’t think I’ll ever get over the absurd prices (especially at the grocery store,) but I’ve really grown to love the area. I love my 20 minute walk to work every day up and down crowded streets of really interesting people. I love that I can have almost anything delivered right to my door. I love that there is always something to do.
I think it is going to be hard to adjust going back to graduate school in Blacksburg after this experience, but I feel so lucky to have had it.
This weekend I’m hoping to find a rooftop to watch fireworks from, and next weekend I turn 23. Can’t wait to celebrate!
